How to Mount an Air Plant

Tillandsias aka Air Plants are fascinating plants! They are in the Bromeliad family which contains Pineapples and Spanish Moss. Spanish moss is the most recognizable tillandsias. Most Tillandsias are epiphytes, which means the attach themselves to other plant and tree branches. Not to be confused with Parasites, epiphytes take nothing from the plant that they attach to. Instead the Tillandsias use their roots for mostly stabilization and get most of their necessary water through microscopic hairs in the leaves absorbed from the surrounding humid air. Hence the name air plants!

Since Tillandsias need no soil, they can be attached to so many cool things in a number of cool ways! Click the link to view our YouTube video on how to mount air plants to almost anything (except metal)!
